The academic content and curriculum of the Bachelor's Program in Abaza Language and Literature consists of a variety of courses aimed at teaching students in-depth knowledge of the Abaza language, literature and culture. Throughout the program, students are taught in an interdisciplinary approach: linguistics, literature, cultural studies and history. The curriculum ranges from basic linguistics to literary analysis, from cultural studies to applied studies.
In the first years of the curriculum, students are given courses that help them understand the basics of the Abaza language. These include Abaza grammar, phonetics and phonology, morphology and syntax. The structural features of the Abaza language, its relationship with other Caucasian languages and the historical development of the language are discussed in these courses. Linguistics courses cover all linguistic elements of the language, starting from the sound structure of the language to the rules of word derivation and sentence structure.
In the following semesters, literary studies become the center of the program. They focus on the historical development of Abaza literature, important literary movements, the main authors and their works. Literary theory, literary genres and textual analysis techniques are also taught at this stage. Students study selected texts of classical and modern Abaza literature, analyzing them in terms of language, themes, narrative techniques and cultural context. In the process, students not only discover the richness of the Abaza language, but also acquire a knowledge of the impact of literature on society.
The curriculum also includes courses that focus on Abaza culture and society. In these courses, the traditions, lifestyle, folklore and social structure of the Abaza people are studied. Cultural elements such as Abaza mythology, epics, folk songs and dances are taught to students both theoretically and practically. This gives students the opportunity to better understand the cultural context of language and literature.
The creative writing courses in the program allow students to create their own literary works. In these courses, the techniques of writing poetry, short stories, essays and other literary genres are taught. Students learn the creative use of the language, creating their own written works in the Abaza language.
Another important component of the curriculum is practical classes. In these classes, students practice the use of the Abaza language in everyday life. Interactive classes, discussion groups and one-on-one language work are organized to develop speaking and writing skills. Students learn the oral and written use of the language, while at the same time they have the opportunity to practice by interacting with the Abaza community.
Finally, the graduation thesis or project work is an integral part of the program. Students conduct in-depth research on a topic of their choice related to the Abaza language and literature and present this research in the form of an academic thesis. This work develops the ability of students to apply the acquired knowledge, conduct their own analysis and complete a work using scientific methods.
The academic content of the Bachelor's Program in Abaza Language and Literature provides a comprehensive curriculum that allows students to develop linguistic skills, analyze literary texts and gain a deep understanding of Abaza culture.
