Academic Content and Curriculum of English Language Teaching-Elt Undergraduate Program

The academic content and curriculum of the Bachelor of Arts in English Language Teaching or ELT aims to teach students both the basic structures of the English language and effective teaching strategies. The curriculum usually consists of four main parts: grammar and structure, literature, teaching methodologies and practical teaching experience.

Grammar and Structure: This section covers the basic grammatical structures of English, including phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Students study the structural features of the language in detail and learn how to apply this knowledge in their teaching.

Practical Teaching Experience: Students gain observation and teaching experiences in real classroom settings in the final years of their education program. Internships allow students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and experience the real aspects of the teaching profession. In this process, students prepare lesson plans, teach lessons and conduct student evaluations under the supervision of experienced teachers.

The curriculum may also include elective courses such as educational technologies, second language acquisition, children's literature and creative writing. These courses offer students the opportunity to broaden their teaching skills and specialize according to their own interests. Pre-service teachers are exposed to current educational approaches and technologies, enabling them to become effective teachers in contemporary educational settings.
