Introduction

Turkish Folklore Undergraduate Program is an educational program that academically studies folklore and folk culture in Turkey. This program aims to comprehensively teach students various aspects of Turkish culture, its traditions, rituals, folkloric dances, musical genres, oral literature and handicrafts. The main goal of the program is to provide students with in-depth knowledge of these subjects and to train individuals who are competent in preserving, transferring and developing this knowledge.

During the education process, students take various courses. These courses include topics such as Turkish Folk Dances, Turkish Folk Music, Folklore Theories, Ethnic Groups in Turkey and Turkish Mythology. In addition, students are taught research methodologies and fieldwork techniques so that graduates gain the competence to conduct independent research. The courses cover both theoretical knowledge and practical applications, which gives students the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practice.

Teaching methods include classroom lectures, group work, seminars and workshops. In addition to taking courses from academics who are experts in their fields, students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in the field by participating in various folk culture festivals, museum and archive visits. In addition, the field studies organized within the framework of the program enable students to gain experience in real life conditions and give them the opportunity to get to know folk culture more closely.

In terms of career opportunities, Turkish Folklore graduates have a wide range of job opportunities. Graduates can work in sectors such as public relations, cultural policy development, tourism sector, educational fields and media. They also have the chance to work as researchers, consultants or managers in museums, archives or cultural organizations. For graduates who want to pursue an academic career, there are options to pursue master's and doctoral programs.

The program also offers students internship and practicum opportunities. This allows students to gain professional experience before graduation and build relationships with potential employers in the sector. Internships often take place in cultural institutions, festivals or government-related projects and provide students with valuable opportunities to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and expand their professional network.
