Introduction

Mugla is a province in the Aegean Region of Turkey, located at the intersection of the Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean Sea. Located on the coast, Mugla is especially popular in terms of tourism and is home to famous holiday resorts such as Bodrum, Marmaris and Fethiye.

Mugla's climate is typical of the Mediterranean climate. Summers are hot and dry, while winters are mild and rainy. Temperature differences throughout the year are relatively small; in summer the temperature usually rises above 30°C, while in winter it rarely drops below zero. These climatic conditions also affect the rich vegetation of the region; it is covered with maquis, olive trees and pine forests.

In terms of population, Mugla's demographic structure is dynamic with locals and tourists coming to the region at certain times of the year. Especially in the summer months, the population increases several times with the arrival of vacationers.

The cost of living, especially in touristic areas, is higher than in other rural areas of Turkey. The economic mobility brought by tourism leads to higher prices in the accommodation, food and beverage and entertainment sectors. However, for local people, various economic activities, especially agriculture and fishing, are among the factors that stabilize the cost of living.

Mugla's economy is largely based on tourism. Places such as Bodrum and Marmaris are recognized as international tourism destinations. Agricultural activities such as olive cultivation, fishing and beekeeping also contribute significantly to the economy.

In terms of health services, Mugla is equipped with modern hospitals and health centers. Health services, especially in touristic regions, are capable of serving local and foreign tourists during the high season.

Transportation is quite diverse as Mugla is close to both seas. Land and sea transportation is well developed, and Dalaman Airport serves both domestic and international flights. In-city transportation is supported by public transportation and taxi services, especially during peak season in touristic areas.

Mugla's local cuisine culture offers a rich diversity with the combination of Aegean and Mediterranean cuisines. Dishes made with olive oil, seafood and local herbs have an important place in the gastronomy tourism of the region.

Mugla, which is rich in terms of tourism, has many historical and natural beauties such as Bodrum Castle, Marmaris Castle, ancient cities in Fethiye. It is also known for activities on the sea such as blue cruise.

One of the advantages of living there is the mild climate even in the calm winter months and the possibility to enjoy the natural beauty. However, disadvantages include the high cost of living in tourist areas and the high density in the summer months. This intensity can put pressure on infrastructure in particular, making daily life difficult for local people.
