Bilkent University was established on a 5,000-acre site in the Bilkent district of Ankara's Çankaya neighbourhood, where it is located. The university is located between the campuses of METU and Hacettepe University and can be reached via İhsan Doğramacı Boulevard, which crosses the Eskişehir-Ankara road. The area is surrounded by the headquarters of important institutions such as BOTAŞ, RTÜK, YÖK, ÖSYM, shopping malls, squares, primary schools, high schools, a mosque, a hotel, two technoparks, residential areas and many cafes and restaurants. The Bilkent district, surrounded by forests, has the appearance of a satellite city with the university at its centre.
Bilkent University is located on 5000 acres of land, 3000 acres of which are forested and divided by valleys, including a lake. The university consists of three campuses spread over three different regions. The Central Campus houses most of the academic units, residences and other facilities. The Middle Campus, within walking distance of the Central Campus, houses academic residences and the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts building. The East Campus, separated from the Central Campus by a valley, is home to the Preparatory School, Vocational Schools, Bilkent International Laboratory Schools (BUPS), and a number of residential and dormitory buildings.
Bilkent University has created a full-fledged campus university by bringing all its units together in one area. The campus is equipped with large green areas, concert and performance halls, exhibition halls, sports facilities, health centres and more than 45 cafes and restaurants. There is also a technology park on the campus. With these features, Bilkent University offers a dynamic and diverse living space for both students and employees.
