Of the 12,000 students studying at Bilkent University, 66% are on scholarship and the scholarship rate for students enrolled in undergraduate programs is 44%, which is equivalent to a Full Scholarship.
Scholarship Types and Conditions
Full Scholarship
In order to benefit from the Full Scholarship, it is necessary to be placed in "Scholarship" quotas at university entrance. Full Scholarship students are exempt from tuition fees. In addition, situations such as low grade point average or course repetition do not affect the continuity of the scholarship. This scholarship is valid for a maximum of 2 years in the English Preparatory Program and a maximum of 6 years in the post-preparatory undergraduate program. Students who have previously graduated from a university with a bachelor's degree cannot benefit from this scholarship.
Comprehensive Scholarship
Students who are placed as Full Scholarship and meet certain success requirements are upgraded to Comprehensive Scholarship. In addition to the Full Scholarship, the Comprehensive Scholarship offers a monthly contribution scholarship of 6,000 TL and free accommodation in Bilkent University dormitories. For those who prefer not to live in the dormitories, the contribution scholarship is increased to 8,900 TL. The comprehensive scholarship is valid for a maximum of 2 years in the English Preparatory Program and 5 years in the post-preparatory undergraduate program. Students who have previously graduated from a university with a bachelor's degree cannot benefit from this scholarship.
50% Scholarship
In order to benefit from the 50% Scholarship, it is necessary to be placed from the "50% Discount" quotas. This scholarship covers half of the tuition fee. 50% Scholarship is valid for a maximum of 2 years in the English Preparatory Program and a maximum of 6 years in the post-preparatory undergraduate program. Students who have previously graduated from a university with an undergraduate degree cannot benefit from this scholarship.
Talent Scholarship
Talent Scholarships are awarded to students who show outstanding success in Fine Arts, Music and Theater departments that admit students through the talent exam. This scholarship covers all or part of the annual tuition fee and continues depending on the student's success. It is valid for a maximum of 2 years in the English Preparatory Program and a maximum of 5 years in the post-preparatory undergraduate program. Students who have previously graduated from a university with a bachelor's degree cannot benefit from this scholarship.
Outstanding Achievement Scholarship
At the end of each academic year, fee-paying and 50% Scholarship students who meet certain achievement requirements are eligible to receive an Outstanding Achievement Scholarship for the following academic year. This scholarship covers all or part of the tuition fee. Students in the English Preparatory Program cannot benefit from this scholarship.
Scholarship Program for Girls
This program is for female students who have completed their high school education in Priority Development Areas and have demonstrated high achievement in the university entrance exam. This program provides the same opportunities as the Comprehensive Scholarship and covers tuition fees, dormitory accommodation (double occupancy room) and a monthly contribution scholarship. The scholarship is valid for a maximum of 2 years in the English Preparatory Program and 5 years in the post-preparatory undergraduate program.
General Scholarship Conditions
- In order for the scholarships to continue, students must take their normal course load and attend their classes regularly. Otherwise, scholarships will be suspended.
- Tuition scholarships and discounts also apply to summer semester course fees.
- All scholarships and discounts provided by Bilkent University are free of charge.
- Receiving a scholarship from another institution does not preclude eligibility for Bilkent University scholarships.
