Bilkent University Library is recognized as the best academic library in Turkey. Its collection includes 514,680 printed books, 930,377 electronic books, 297 printed journals, 84,568 electronic journals and 234 databases. This rich collection is housed in the university's Central and East campuses. According to the Foundation Higher & Higher Education Institutions 2021 report prepared by the Council of Higher & Higher Education, Bilkent University is the university that allocates the largest amount of money to library expenditures with 15.2 million TL.

Library Usage and Services

Bilkent Üniversity östudents are considered as natural residents of the library. The open shelf system is applied in the library, and students can use books, magazines and other resources in the library, as well as take these resources for certain periods of time. There are areas in the library where students can comfortably use for individual and group activities. Students can get support from the experienced staff of the library to access accurate and reliable information for their research.

Special Areas and Facilities

The library has an Art Room with books, magazines and reference resources on art. There is also a Multimedia Room with audio and visual and digital resources and a Newspaper and Magazine Reading Room with publications in different languages. The Art Gallery hosts cultural events such as exhibitions, mini concerts, dance performances and talks.


Hours of Operation

The Central Campus Library is open from 08:30 – 23:30 on weekdays and 09:00 – 23:30 on weekends. East Campus Library is open between 08:30 – 17:00 on weekdays and 09:00 – 23:30 on weekends.
